Ashes & Diamonds’ Grand Vin is a proprietary blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from vines over three decades old at ASHES & DIAMONDS’ vineyard in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. The vineyard’s alluvial soils are derived from volcanic and marine sediments washed down from the neighboring mountains into gravelly clay loam soil. Oak Knoll’s lingering morning fog and afternoon sea breezes support a moderate growing season favoring temperance over heat spikes. These conditions result in a wine of finesse and elegance that maintains fresh red and blue fruit flavors while exalting secondary characteristics of spice and herbal tones.
